Recording method actually makes it more interestin

I like this a lot. You are very good, able to play very on the piano. But the slight echo and sound change caused by your recording method actually adds to this piece, making it very stylish and ambient, which makes your title especially appropriate. Keep up the good work, and don't get too comfortable with this way of recording- you will want to put out better recordings for different pieces.

MoonlitRaven responds:

thanks for listening and for the advice!

You're right.

Vocals could use work, but you have the potential to make it better yourself. You could start by using your diaphragm more to support your sound. Some of your higher holds actually sounded like you were doing this, and were pretty good. But you may also want to rearrange the vocal melody, as some parts didn't sound right in the song, whether it was a rhythm here or a pitch choice there. Give the vocals another run-over, work out a few kinks, and it will be pretty good. And give singing it another shot, just remembering to put more of your diaphragm behind the sound instead of using your throat.

Kor-Rune responds:

Thanks! Some of the melodies were rather hard to work out due to crazy time signatures, namely near the first fourth of the song. I'll have to focus more on diaphragm usage. I put so much work in polishing the rest of the song with the mix and guitars etc. that I simply haven't put enough effort in the vocal.

I hope you liked the rest of the song, didn't really get input on that. Thanks for the review!

Feels like a mission select menu.

Pretty good. Relaxed, but has an intensity to it that gives it that sense of urgency prevalent in a tactical briefing. Nice bass sound, by the way. cool tune.

YanX responds:

Lol ok .Wrong title lol^^.That's why we lost ^^

This is really very nice.

This sounds pretty cool, and has a good feel to it. Decent choice in sounds, but one of the more interesting aspects is how it shifts across styles as the song progresses. You managed to segue them into each other quite well.

You have put some good stuff on the site lately. Keep up the good work.

ShadowWingz responds:

Thank you!

Fix your harmonies

The song's not bad, but you need to fix the harmonies in the chorus, or get everyone to hit their notes a little more precisely, whichever is the issue.

Vashelite responds:

danke!

I'm not sure if these count as "punny"

interesting skit. Lots of puns, or half-puns, whatever you would call them. The voices were different enough to be distinct, so good job on that front. The jokes were pretty good, but you should probably only go for so long with puns- they get tiresome after a while (in general, nothing against you). Anyway, nice job, keep up the good work, and good luck judging the contest.

FatKidWitAJetPak responds:

Thanks a lot for the honest review! The main joke of this dragged on for so long, that the joke was that the guy was just being annoyed the hell out of by this merchant. That music in the background starts to get on my nerves lol xD

Funky sound choices

If you can't get a vocalist to do this, a better sound for the vocal melody line might have been a great improvement. The backup sounds great from what I can hear, but the main line takes away from that and makes it harder to enjoy.
Also, one thing people sometimes forget about the Beatles is that they have some sweet harmonies in the vocals, so that would have been good. If you could tone down the main line some that would be good too- it's a little loud and piercing.

Overall, sounds decent, but not great.

TRUMPETHero1992 responds:

yeah, I was working with terrible software with a very limited instrument selection. but thanks for the review! I'll keep this in mind for the future.

Very pleasant to listen to.

I really enjoyed this. Is a very relaxing piece with a sweet feel to it, and a sensation of walking through a mysterious, peaceful forest. It sounds great. It's pretty cool you came up with this from a cell phone ring tone- i think everyone does that at some point, and you made a prime example of how good a personal, extended version can sound.

YanX responds:

Thanks for the comments guys. Before i made this one i tried to find the real extended version but there wasn't.looks like it doesn't exist lol.^^

Enjoyable

I actually rather enjoyed this. While simple and erratic, it was melodically sound and had a steady rhythm. nice work, dude.

RaREaniMoSiTY responds:

Thanks :D

How did you mix this?

This was pretty damn sweet, if I may say so. Nice tune, although you lost the rhythm or something somewhere near the end- but considering it was mixing gear instead of you, that is still pretty damn good.

By the way, what program did you use to do this? not the effects- the mixing.

hardtoplease responds:

adobe audition 3.0.. tis very very good for audio manipulation and all the better now you can use vst instruments with it. But yeah very easy to mix with and simple UI.
cheers for the good response btw! only really made it spur of the moment lol

I have widely varying tendencies.
