I recomend you the "Audacity", its a freeware easy to use, it although has some neat efects and edition tools, works smoothly and it's gentle with principiants.
by the way, you samed interested in my I-bot submition. I got reviewed by MindChamber explaining that "I" does actualy understand for "Image" and giving some realy cool tips on what they have on mind for him.
